Behind The Mask

Every artist reaches a point where they begin to question themselves. Criticism, comparison and doubt can become as much a part of the creative process as inspiration itself.

Behind The Mask was created during one of those moments. Rather than responding with words, I chose to answer through art.

At the centre of the piece is an Egyptian-inspired mask engraved with a hidden message. The hieroglyphs aren’t decorative—they were written by me and carry a personal statement about originality, creativity and believing there is room for more than one artistic voice.

Surrounding the mask are playful references to jealousy, criticism and the idea that success should inspire rather than divide. The underlying message is simple:

Don’t be bitter. Be better.

Most viewers will never discover every hidden meaning, and that’s entirely intentional. Some stories reveal themselves only to those willing to look a little closer.
