ABOUT THIS ARTWORK
Behind The Mask is one of my most personal artworks.
Created during a period when I found myself questioning originality and navigating criticism, the piece became my response—not through confrontation, but through creativity.
At its centre sits an Egyptian-inspired mask engraved with a hidden hieroglyphic message that I designed specifically for this artwork. Surrounding it are symbols exploring jealousy, resilience and the importance of focusing on your own creative journey rather than comparing yourself with others.
The artwork’s underlying message—Don’t be bitter. Be better.—continues to reflect how I choose to approach both art and life.
Created entirely by hand in Adobe Photoshop without the use of AI, Behind The Mask rewards curiosity while reminding us that the strongest response to criticism is simply to keep creating.
