Beware Poor Imitations is a playful yet personal reflection on originality and the creative process.
Inspired by a remark questioning the authenticity of my work, I chose not to respond publicly. Instead, I channelled that energy into creating something new. The title borrows the familiar warning often associated with luxury brands, transforming it into a statement about creativity itself.
The artwork blends contemporary Pop Art with subtle visual storytelling, inviting viewers to explore themes of authenticity, aspiration and artistic confidence. Along the way, careful observers may discover hidden details—including a mysterious figure concealed within the perfume bottle—that reward those willing to spend time with the piece.
Created entirely by hand in Adobe Photoshop without the use of AI, Beware Poor Imitations celebrates an idea I continue to believe in: inspiration belongs to everyone, but originality comes from finding your own voice.
