A Tribute to Keith Flint
Firestarter was one of the very first digital artworks I created in 2021, marking the beginning of my journey into the style that would eventually become Neil Pengelly Studios.
The piece is a tribute to the late Keith Flint—frontman of The Prodigy and one of the most electrifying performers of his generation. Keith wasn’t simply a singer; he became an icon of individuality, rebellion and fearless self-expression. His energy, attitude and unmistakable image inspired millions and helped define an era of British music and rave culture.
Rather than creating a straightforward portrait, I wanted to capture the spirit that made him unforgettable. Layers of colour, movement and references celebrate not only Keith himself, but the culture that surrounded him and the lasting impact he left behind.
As one of my earliest works, Firestarter holds a special place in my own artistic journey. Looking back, I can still see the foundations of the style that continues to evolve in my work today.
