When Silence Speaks The Loudest
Boys Don’t Cry was created during one of the lowest periods of my own life. While the room appears abandoned and broken, every object has been carefully placed to represent the emotions many men struggle to express.
The artwork explores the pressure to appear strong, the fear of vulnerability and the loneliness that can exist even when surrounded by people. It’s a reminder that mental health doesn’t discriminate and that asking for help is never a sign of weakness.
Light pours through the window as a symbol of hope, cutting through a room filled with despair. Hidden throughout the artwork are references to depression, identity, isolation and resilience, inviting viewers to spend time discovering the deeper story beneath the surface.
