Urban Gorilla
ABOUT THIS ARTWORK
Urban Gorilla was born from curiosity.
I wanted to explore whether the visual language I’d been developing through music and popular culture could successfully translate into wildlife. Rather than focusing on realism, I chose to emphasise expression, texture and presence, creating a portrait that celebrates strength without aggression.
Inspired by the calm confidence and intelligence of gorillas, the artwork combines contemporary street art influences with bold colour and layered digital composition to produce something that feels both familiar and unexpected.
Created entirely by hand in Adobe Photoshop without the use of AI, Urban Gorilla remains one of those rare pieces that exceeded my own expectations, proving that experimentation is often where creativity flourishes.
