Not every artwork begins with a detailed plan. Sometimes an idea simply refuses to leave you alone.
Urban Gorilla started as exactly that—an experiment. I wanted to see how my visual style would translate beyond music, culture and architecture, and whether it could capture the character of an animal just as powerfully.
Rather than portraying aggression, I was drawn to something quieter. Gorillas possess an incredible physical presence, yet they often display patience, intelligence and calm authority. Those qualities became the foundation of the artwork.
Layered with contemporary street art influences, bold colour and expressive textures, Urban Gorilla became one of those unexpected pieces that connected with collectors in ways I hadn’t anticipated. Sometimes the simplest ideas become the most rewarding.
Every artwork contains hidden references. Some you’ll notice immediately. Others may take years to discover.
